It’s July 4th, a day to celebrate the freedom we have as a nation and the hard-working men and women who got us here. At WeddingWire, we know we have a lot of “freedoms” in our office that make our company a great place to work (and we’re hiring!).
So far this summer we’ve been working hard on new events, products and promotions that will help our Pros succeed, but we’ve also made time for summer fun. After all, one of our favorite mottos is “Work Hard, Play Hard!” As the days have gotten longer, our team has been enjoying the weather and good vibes.
Below are a few of the ways we’ve been celebrating our freedoms at WeddingWire HQ so far this summer!
A night out with the Nationals
Since we’re located in Chevy Chase, MD, we like to take advantage of fun activities within Washington, DC. In June, WeddingWire staff was able to reserve free tickets for a game at Nationals Park, where we got to enjoy a night of baseball in the nation’s capital! Many departments took the game as an opportunity to bond as a group and welcome new team members.
Ping Pong tournament
Many staff members at WeddingWire love ping pong (we have a table in our café), so we hosted an internal tournament complete with an official bracket! 40 players signed up, and the tournament took place over a full week before the exciting final match which the full office was invited to watch.
Ice cream sundae bar
Our wonderful Operations department provided some sweetness overload with an ice cream sundae bar! With the help from Breyer’s we were able to set up a whole sundae station, featuring hot fudge, sprinkles, whipped cream and more. After a few 90-degree weather days in DC, the sundae bar was a welcome change for our team.
U.S. Soccer madness
With the U.S. Men’s National Team playing so well in the first round of group play in the World Cup, our office was full of national pride! Several of the games took place during office hours, so our staff convened in the café (with their computers, of course) to cheer on our team and enjoy some pizza and beer. Many folks even dressed up to show their support for the U.S. team!
Happy July 4th! We hope you enjoy the holiday and celebrate with family and friends.
