Step 4: One Customer at a Time
While new technology allows for a large number of people to share their thoughts, remember that your reputation is still built one customer at a time. Each interaction you have is an opportunity to enhance your reputation. The online world makes it easier than ever for positive experiences to spread virally. In order to build your online reputation, you must:
- Be open to receiving feedback
- Be transparent with your customers
- Be consistent in your approach
- Spread the good word to others!
Your online reputation matters just as much as your offline reputation. You will better understand your business and how you are viewed in the community by knowing where the conversations are happening, what they are saying and how to apply the feedback to your business operations. Make sure to constantly encourage positive feedback and take credit for a job well done. Don’t be afraid to ask for feedback or to spread positive experiences. Technology creates a multiplier effect for your business and the experiences you create for customers. It allows for your reputation to spread more quickly and more easily. You have the power to make sure your business has a positive online reputation!
