WeddingWire is thrilled to have been featured last week in the Washington Post! The article explains how WeddingWire CEO Timothy Chi realized the need for WeddingWire, and how he turned his dream into a reality with the launch of our website in 2007.
Tim originally created WeddingWire out of frustration when planning his own wedding. He and his fiancée were exasperated when attempting to find vendors and plan their special day because there was no technology available to help execute the process. As a technologist, Tim figured there had to a better way to make the process simpler and bring couples and vendors together.
While Tim approached WeddingWire as a consumer, he quickly realized wedding and event professionals could benefit from more tools and advice to help them better reach and serve clients. As quoted in the Washington Post article:
“The people we touch in our space, they’re all creative people — event designers, florists, artists. So that’s what they’re good at and that’s what they want to do,” Chi says. “We’re really passionate about helping these guys be more successful through technology. How can we play a role to support them, so they have more time to be better artists?”
We could never have gotten to this point without our wonderful Wedding Pros! We are humbled to have reached this point, and we’re excited to continue helping wedding merchants power their businesses and helping engaged couples find them.
Thank you to all our WeddingWire Pros!
