» Account Updates to Reviews and Messages

We’ve made some updates to your WeddingWire experience to help you connect with more couples searching for their wedding team. Learn more about these updates to reviews and messages below!

Additional Details in Reviews

Recent reviews now display more information about the services you provided for past clients. These details are listed to give users more context about what offerings that reviewer used from your business, such as whether a venue was booked for a ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner; or if they had additional services such as event set-up, uplighting or catering.

How do we get this information? After submitting a review, couples are able to complete an optional set of questions based on your business category, as well as the types of services you provide as noted in the FAQ section of your Storefront. If the user completes these optional questions, the additional information will be listed with their review to help confirm which if your business services they used for their wedding that other couples may be interested in.

#WeDoSomethingBlue to Reduce Wedding Planning Stress

Wedding planning is supposed to be fun for your clients, but sometimes it becomes a super stressful process. Our research shows that 3 out of 5 WeddingWire couples report feeling significant pressure and stress to plan the perfect wedding, which takes away from what should be a happy time for engaged couples.

This wedding season, WeddingWire is helping your clients kick wedding stress to the curb and bring the focus back to love and commitment with our Something Blue campaign. Your clients can pledge to not let wedding stress take over their lives, and they’ll be signing up to receive exclusive deals from our partner brands and a special “something blue” band to wear as a reminder!

Each week through July 9, 2016 we’ll send weekly emails featuring select de-stressing tips offered by our pros, plus we’ve added a specially-curated article on WeddingWire with some of the best tips we received, including the following:

Prioritize. Making a list of your top five ‘must-haves’ on your wedding day will help you stay on budget and get the wedding you have always envisioned.”

Melissa Kramer of Kramer Events in San Luis Obispo, California.

Stop trying to make everyone happy. Don’t be surprised if you are bombarded with ideas, suggestions and requests from every side from the moment you announce your engagement. Although you should be considerate, it is unwise to try and please everyone. Be true to your vision, and remember that this is your day. This will help you establish boundaries and have the wedding you always dreamed of.”

Olga Pomeransky of Best for Bride in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.

Don’t lose sight about what the big day is really about! If you remember that celebrating your love and commitment with everyone you care about is the most important part of the day, you won’t stress over the napkins matching the bridesmaids dresses perfectly.”

– Lindsay Quinn of NST Pictures in New York, New York.

Join the movement to reduce wedding planning stress! Share with your clients on social media using #wedosomethingblue to help spread the word that couples are not alone when it comes to wedding planning – they have family, friends, and friendly pros willing to help lessen the burden.

» Announcing the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards® 2016

Announcing the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards® 2016

We are pleased to announce the winners of our eighth annual awards program, the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards® 2016!

The honorees represent the top five percent of wedding professionals in the WeddingWire local vendor community who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism. This year’s list of winners is made up of the nation’s top local wedding professionals, covering over 20 different service categories including wedding venues, florists, wedding photographers, and more.

Our Couples’ Choice Awards winners are chosen solely based on the quality, quantity, consistency, and recency of the wedding reviews each professional received from consumers through the 2015 calendar year. Our program is meant to serve as an indicator of legitimacy and reliability for engaged couples when selecting their team of wedding professionals. According to Lynn, a WeddingWire user from Michigan:

“This award absolutely made a difference when I was picking vendors. If a vendor had that seal, I knew that enough engaged couples liked their services that I would, too. It helped me decide between two DJs that were otherwise equal.”

We are proud to feature these award-winning professionals who also understand the impact reviews have on their successful wedding businesses! Winners were notified via email on January 6, 2016. Recipients also received the official WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards 2016 badge within their WeddingWire account, along with access to a suite of marketing tools to showcase the award.

Congratulations again to all the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards 2016 winners! We’re thrilled to celebrate such a high-caliber, committed group of professionals for the Couples’ Choice Awards’ eighth year.

» Announcing Our Second Annual #justsaidyes Campaign!

Tell your wedding clients to share their #justsaidyes moment with WeddingWire! We’re thrilled to announce that our #justsaidyes campaign is back and better than ever this year!

The WeddingWire #justsaidyes campaign for consumers is held annually during peak engagement season. The campaign asks couples to share their engagement moment on social media with #justsaidyes and @weddingwire for a chance to win a honeymoon and $5,000 registry.

This year, we’re proud to announce that Shawn Johnson, the recently-engaged Olympic Gold Medalist, “Dancing with the Stars” champion, and ESPY Award Winner, has joined the campaign as she plans her own big day and inspires other couples to share their own special engagement celebrations!

With approximately 40% of engagements happening between November and February, engagement season is the perfect time to recognize and celebrate the hundreds of thousands of newly engaged couples beginning their wedding planning journey.

The #justsaidyes campaign encourages couples to upload photos and videos of their unique engagement story on social media for a chance to win prizes, including a wedding registry courtesy of Macy’s and a honeymoon courtesy of Marriott, as well as be featured on WeddingWire’s social media sites, and possibly receive a shout-out from Shawn Johnson herself.

To be eligible to win, couples must follow WeddingWire on Instagram and share their favorite engagement photos by tagging @WeddingWire with the hashtag #justsaidyes starting today through February 19, 2016. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 Registry from Macy’s and a $2,500 gift certificate to use at the Marriott of the winning couple’s choice for their honeymoon.

We encourage you to promote the #justsaidyes contest to your newly-engaged clients on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! The more money they can save on their registry and honeymoon, the more budget they can allocate elsewhere in their wedding planning journey. All couples – whether they use WeddingWire or not – are eligible as long as they are currently engaged and not yet married.

For more information about the campaign and instructions for submissions, please visit the official #justsaidyes website.
