» Make a Stunning Impression with WeddingWire 3D Tours

Premium members can now showcase their venue like never before! Give potential clients a tour of your property, anywhere with a WeddingWire 3D Tour — now included with your Spotlight, Featured, or Professional venue listing in select regions.

A 3D tour transforms the way couples can view your venue by providing them with a virtual walkthrough of your property. Compared to traditional photos and videos, an interactive 3D tour gives couples the most realistic experience aside from physically visiting your venue and lets them easily view your space right on your WeddingWire Storefront, prior to contacting you. It’s a great way to attract more qualified leads.

Interested in a WeddingWire 3D Tour? The process is easy!

Step one: Fill out this form, and include available dates for the photo shoot, descriptions of interior and exterior areas, and a floor plan if available. Once submitted, we’ll contact you to confirm your photo shoot and coordinate timing and logistics.

Step two: On the day of the photo shoot we recommend preparing your venue the same way that you would for a wedding to help prospective clients visualize the space for their big day – make sure everything is clean, decorated and well-lit. Keep in mind that the camera will capture rich details of your space for users to explore and zoom. The photo shoot typically take 2 to 3 hours, but can vary based on the complexity of your floor plan and square footage. We will calculate the amount of time needed based on the details you provide in your form and schedule accordingly.

Step three: We’ll create a high-quality 3D tour of your venue and add it to your WeddingWire Storefront. This process will take approximately three weeks. After it is uploaded, you will also receive a 3D Tour icon in the vendor directory.

Have questions? Email 3DTours@weddingwire.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

» The Secret to Earning a Spot on a Venue’s Referral List

This post is by Jennifer Reitmeyer. Jennifer has worked in the wedding industry since 1997. In addition to owning MyDeejay, an award-winning wedding entertainment firm serving the Washington, D.C. market, she also maintains a wedding business blog, WeddingIQ, and a blogging and social media service for wedding businesses, Firebrand Messaging. Jennifer is available for small business coaching, speaking, and writing opportunities. Read more at jenniferreitmeyer.com.

Many wedding venues maintain their own referral lists of preferred vendors, and getting on those lists can feel like finding the proverbial “golden ticket” when it comes to more inquiries and more sales. As a bonus, when a venue you love is sending business your way, you get the pleasure of returning again and again – you know the layout, the load-in procedures and the staff, and that makes your job that much easier.

The Secret to Earning a Spot on a Venue’s Referral ListSo what’s the secret to getting on a venue’s referral list? Here are some secrets that have worked for my business, and should work for yours, too:

Start where you already have a foothold. Take a look at your calendar – which venues have you worked at recently, and where are your weddings taking place over the next few months? Those venues are a great starting point, because you’ve either had or are about to have the opportunity to do your very best work and make a great impression. It’s always easier to approach a venue contact about referrals if you’ve just done a great job at that site.

If you are flying blind, choose venues for which you’re well-suited. Consider your branding (is it classic, modern, edgy, sophisticated, whimsical, something else?) as well as your target client – do these align with the branding and target client of the venue you’re soliciting? Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but using my own segment of the industry as an example, I wouldn’t expect a five-star historic hotel to be too excited to refer a DJ whose website blared loud party music upon loading, or whose DJs wore glittery bow ties to every event. By focusing your efforts on venues for which you’re a good match, you’ll increase your chances of earning their referrals.

Be respectful of the venue, always. This is so important, and something on which I train my entire team. Virtually every venue has rules – some stricter than others – and you need to follow them if you want the contact person to refer you. When you work an event, make sure you’re loading in where you’re supposed to,  you’re not causing damage to the venue by placing tape on delicate surfaces, you’re no standing on furniture and – by all means – you’re not rude to the staff. » Announcing WeddingWire Editors’ Picks

Announcing WeddingWire Editors’ PicksIntroducing WeddingWire Editors’ Picks – a new program recognizing ceremony and reception venues across the U.S. and abroad!

The WeddingWire editorial team spends a great deal of time looking for the brightest stars in the wedding community, so we launched our Editors’ Picks program to highlight some of our favorite wedding venues across the country.

The first set of winners fall into our first two categories: Colleges and Universities and Farms and Barns. We will showcase two categories per month and update categories once a year. Categories are chosen based on the time of year (seasonality and popularity of that particular style in a season) and the interest of our users in order to maximize engagement. Up to 20 venues are selected to feature per category, per year.

Want to be an Editors’ Pick? While there’s no way to apply for our Editors’ Picks program, our editorial team regularly reviews Storefronts on WeddingWire and look for the following:

  • Updated Photos of Your Venue: Ensure you have high-quality, professional photos of your venue from the past year. Photos should highlight what sets your venue apart, features, different wedding styles, etc.
  • Accurate and Updated Venue Information in Your Profile: What makes your venue unique? Explain specific features and services you offer that set your venue apart.

Our Editors’ Picks program is not related to or impacted by our premium advertising options. We encourage you to keep your Storefront photos up to date to catch the attention of our Editors; your business could be picked for one of our upcoming categories!

Find out more about this program and check out the first round of winners on the WeddingWire Editors’ Picks website.
