Updated Review Gifts

WeddingWire is no longer offering a photo book or canvas print as a reward for couples who write two or four reviews. This information has been automatically removed from your Review Collector email template; however, if you have chosen to notify clients of this reward elsewhere, please make sure to update as needed. Stay tuned for new offers to encourage couples to write reviews, or invite your clients to enter our WeddingWire Rewards wedding giveaways!

The New Search Engine Optimizer

We’ve improved the Search Engine Optimizer to include even more functionality to boost your Storefront ranking! Check out the new sections focused on adding fresh content, selecting your preferred Title and Description, optimizing your About Us content, and more. This is great news for pros with multiple locations or different service offerings!

We’re also in the process of updating the ‘Visit Website’ link from your Storefront to now include a nofollow tag. This change will prevent any potential issues in the eyes of search engine algorithms and make sure your business Storefront continues to rank toward the top on Google and other search engines.

» Voting is Now Live for the Weddi Awards™!

Weddi_Award16_logo_stacked-teal-black-TMThe Weddi AwardsTM, WeddingWire’s latest awards program for distinguishing exceptional service in the wedding industry, has now launched the voting pages for all Weddi Award nominees!

Earlier this fall, we launched the program and accepted submissions from Pros and peers to honor exceptional work in the industry through a variety of awards in the professional experience, customer excellence and innovation + creativity categories.

To vote, visit the website and click through the award pages to find out what Pros you know have been nominated, and vote for your favorite entry for each voting-based award. Each individual can only vote one time per award (per device), so pick your winner carefully!

The top three nominees with the most votes per award will move on to the final stage of the competition, and will win a free ticket to WeddingWire World 2016 and a special invitation to our Weddi Award reception at the event where the ultimate winner as determined by our panel of 11 industry judges will be announced!

If you or an industry friend has been nominated, share the news! Email, post, and tweet with a  link to their award’s voting page and ask your audience of past clients, colleagues, friends and family to vote from now through December 23, 2015 when voting closes at midnight EST. All nominees will be contacted to learn if they are in the top three per award by December 31, 2015.

During this month’s one hour webinar for premium members, WeddingWire’s Education Guru Alan Berg shared his tips for using your reviews to help you set your business up for success during engagement season and into next year!

10 Creative Ways to Use Your Reviews:

  1. On your website: Add your reviews and sound bites from happy clients to your website, and not just on a testimonial page! Consider adding a testimonial on all your website pages – especially your homepage.
  2. In your marketing: Add testimonials or reviews to your marketing collateral. Reviews should be on all important materials that would reach new potential clients. After all, 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations!
  3. On your packages or pricing info: Reviews and testimonials from past clients are a great addition to your pricing or packages to show the value behind your services. This will also help to justify your cost and connect with the client, so they are encouraged to book you for their wedding or event.
  4. On your business cards: Make a lasting first impression by adding a great review sound bite to your business cards. Not only will this help to make you more memorable, but will also show your value in addition to your basic business information, and is a great way to stand out from the rest of the competition!
  5. In your promo videos: Easily add a quick testimonial right from a happy client’s mouth through video. Video testimonials show a real client and capture their genuine appreciation for your services which can make a big impact.
  6. In your wedding show booth: Create materials such as postcards, signage and more to show your reviews in your wedding show booth. This will help make your business stand out from the rest by making a client to client connection. Also be sure to showcase any review related awards you have won, such as WeddingWire Rated™ or the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards®.
  7. In your email communication: Consider adding a favorite review to your email signature, and definitely add a link to your WeddingWire reviews URL to your business signature. That way, interested clients can quickly click through to read your great reviews, and this will help encourage them to leave you a review post-event by showing they matter to you!
  8. On social media: Share your new reviews on social media to reach a broader audience. This is made easy through the Facebook share buttons in the Reviews tab of your WeddingWire account.
  9. On your blog: Add your Review Widget to your business’ blog and website to showcase your reviews on those sites. Also consider adding the Review Us button to those sites as well to encourage past clients to review your business to continue to collect new reviews.
  10. In your photo gallery: Couples love to see photos of your work, and tend to go to that section of your website or Storefront when reviewing Pros. Make an even better impression by posting quick testimonials to those pages to not only visually showcase your work, but also share how happy it made your clients.

Remind your 2015 couples to leave a review

Take advantage of collecting feedback from all the events you worked so hard for all spring and summer! 1 in 5 couples will write a review when asked by their vendor, and that number increases to 1 in 3 if they are reminded at least once. The WeddingWire Review Collector makes requesting, following up, and getting reviews simple. In fact, our data shows that 83% of searching couples like to hear what they should expect, not from the vendors themselves, but from past customers who’ve been in their position.

We’ve compiled the top five factors engaged couples look for in your wedding reviews to help you understand the frame of mind your potential clients have when evaluating your business:

Responsiveness

One of the biggest things couples look for in your past reviews is whether or not reviewers comment on your responsiveness. Since research shows that most couples expect to hear back from a vendor within 24 hours, your ability to respond quickly and effectively is a huge consideration during the planning process. On average, 10 wedding vendors are involved in a couple’s wedding, so they’re constantly communicating back and forth with multiple pros. They need a professional who won’t make them chase him or her down to get an answer to a question or sign a contract.

Consistency

When looking at all your past reviews, couples are most interested in pros that have consistently positive reviews. They’re looking to see if most of your clients had a similar experience, and reading the comments your clients have made to see what patterns may emerge. While consistency is key, it’s okay to have a few less-than-favorable reviews scattered throughout your review history. Survey data suggests that 72% of consumers find a variety of opinions to be valuable when reading through reviews. Couples understand that feedback is subjective and having a few imperfect reviews does not necessarily prevent a customer from contacting you!
