How do you establish yourself as an expert in your industry? Jody and Richard Wimer, Founder and Executive Chef of JPC Event Group, each bring their strengths and skills to the table. Jody started the company in 1998 as a complement to husband Richard’s restaurant. Since then, the couple has expanded their offering, network, and business by keeping their focus on fine ingredients and attention to detail.
What have they done to become so successful? Read below to learn more and get inspired for your own business.
Get Involved. The wedding industry is incredibly network driven. It’s important for you to get out there and get connected with other Wedding Pros and Associations. Jody sits on the Board of Directors of the International Caterers Association (ICA) and Richard is a member of the ICA culinary council. Getting involved not only helps you network, but also will help you stay on top of industry trends.
Showcase Your Work. Word of mouth and referrals are just as important when finding new clients. Get your name out there and show off your past work on your website, blog, and WeddingWire Storefront. Just recently JPC Event Group was written up in Catersource Magazine as well as Views & Voices Magazine. They also became listed as part of Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book.
Additionally, Jody is an active featured Wedding Pro on WeddingWire’s blog Wedding Aces, where she shares her advice and inspiration with brides-to-be planning their weddings. Getting your business in magazines and on different websites helps to establish a greater presence in the industry while increasing the possible outlets where potential clients can find you.
